The day is finally here.

It is with so much excitement that I write this first post, as I have officially begun a new chapter in my life as a Foreign Service Officer. Who knows where this road will take me, but it has been a long journey to get here, and I am ready for the ride.

I will update this blog throughout the process so that you may follow me and be a part of the amazing journey. I cannot describe what an honor it is to be representing the United States of America. To me, this is truly my patriotic and civil duty to spread diplomacy and democracy around the world, wherever my travels take me. This is just a start, and there is so much to do.

For now, I must wrap up all the loose ends with work, my organizations I am involved in, and family. There is so much to get completed within the next month...obtaining a will, changing insurance, set up housing, updating bank accounts, checking into the whole "cell phone thing" (I have had a work cell phone for the past 5 years...and now I must worry about international plans, texting, service areas, etc., pack items and arrange for shipping, among the million things on my plate once I get to Washington DC. Here I come, class of the 147th Foreign Service Officers.

Let's do this!
